Hypselosaurus was a dinosaur believed to have lived during the Late Cretaceous period, about 70 million years ago, in southern France. It was a herbivorous dinosaur, a sauropod titanosaur. It is believed that Hypselosaurus could reach up to 12 meters in length, a size estimated from the bone fragments found.
Eggs attributed to Hypselosaurus were among the first dinosaur eggs ever discovered, in the 19th century. The eggs of Hypselosaurus could have had a very thin shell and measured around 30 cm in diameter. Eggshell fragments attributed to Hypselosaurus are among the fossils commonly found in France.
Recent studies question whether Hypselosaurus represents a distinct dinosaur taxon, suggesting that the remains identified so far may belong to other sauropods that lived at the same time.
