Elosuchus

Elosuchus is an extinct genus of crocodilian that lived in the Middle Cretaceous in what is now North Africa (Morocco and Algeria).

Elosuchus had an elongated, gharial-like snout. Its jaws contained conical teeth of unequal size set in sockets called alveoli. Its body was flattened dorsoventrally and covered with dermal plates reinforced by bony plates that were not fused together over the back. Its tail was laterally compressed. It was probably fully aquatic.

In general, modern-day crocodiles, caimans, gavials, and alligators have changed relatively little over time and are similar to their prehistoric relatives.
