Description
Triceratops is a famous herbivorous dinosaur that lived in the Late Cretaceous, approximately 68-65 million years ago. Its name means "three-horned face". Triceratops could reach 8-9 meters in length and 6-12 tons in weight. Although the three horns seem to have been a defensive weapon, recent discoveries show that they had more of a role in identification and social display than a defensive role.
