Authentic fossilized specimens of Lycoptera davidi fish from China, approximately 118 million years old, in natural matrix. Lycoptera fish specimens may be present on both the front and back of the matrix, as well as within the vertical sedimentary layers that compose it. We invite you to carefully study all product photos to identify all present specimens. The matrix comes with an included plastic display stand and a Certificate of Authenticity signed by a professional geologist who performed the expert assessment of the specimens. A superb decorative object with a rich history behind it!
Due to their age and the local extraction methods, the specimens may have imperfections and repaired areas (glued joints), which are perfectly normal and inevitable, but they are in good overall condition. The fish have not been restored or artificially colored; they remain in their natural state, as found. Only repairs (glued joints) or stabilization of the matrix may be present. We invite you to carefully study the product photos to identify natural imperfections and possible matrix repairs.
Originating from China, the specimen was acquired from Europe, from an old European collection.
