Authentic rare fossilized Ceratodus africanus lungfish tooth plate specimen from Morocco, approximately 100 million years old, in a plastic box. A fossil from the time of the dinosaurs, and an excellent gift for a collector or anyone passionate about paleontology!
Due to its age, the specimen may have imperfections and repaired areas (glued sections) that are perfectly normal and inevitable for such an old fossil, but it is, overall, in good condition. We invite you to carefully study the product photos to identify the natural imperfections and any possible repairs to the specimen.

The product consists of a single authentic fossilized Ceratodus africanus lungfish tooth plate in a plastic box—the one shown in the photos above. It comes with a booklet containing specific geological and paleontological information.
Lungfishes are a subclass of bony fishes that appeared during the Devonian period, approximately 410 million years ago, with certain species surviving to this day. These fishes possess a dual respiratory system, aquatic (via gills) and aerial (via lungs). They are omnivorous, feeding on other fish, insects, crustaceans, amphibians, and plants. Due to their ability to breathe both in water and air, they can survive periods of drought when water evaporates and they remain trapped in small puddles, breathing air until the drought passes and the rains return.
