Description
Spinosaurs sunt un grup de dinozauri carnivori dispăruţi, care au trăit pe teritoriul Africii de Nord în perioada Cretacică Târzie, acum 112-93,5 de milioane de ani. Primele rămășițe de Spinosaurus, reprezentând un schelet parțial, au fost descoperite în Egipt în 1912. Genul a fost descris și denumit în 1915. Aceste fosile au fost distruse în Al Doilea Război Mondial, dar numeroase rămășițe fragmentare au fost descoperite ulterior în Egipt și Maroc.
